The film will also star Zoe Saldana, from Star Trek and Avatar, and Ewan McGregor from Big Fish.
Cheadle, who starred in a number of movies including House of Lies, Iron Man Two and Three, and Hotel Rwanda also will direct and produce Miles Ahead from a script he wrote with Steven Baigelman, who also wrote Get On Up, the James Brown biopoc due out later this year.
Davis was possibly the most prominent figure in Jazz, spearheading a number of jazz and jazz-based styles in the 20th century. His wildly celebrated, quadruple platinum album, Kind of Blue often tops “best of” albums in any category. The trumpeter turned music on it’s ear with his unique improvisation and sharp, pioneering style.
“We look forward to exploring the culture, musicians and backdrop of this city,” said Cheadle in the film commission release today. “We are hoping to work closely with the community to bring this project to (the) screen,”
