America’s top-selling car, Toyota’s Camry, sought help from blues legend B.B. King to launch its 2015 model this weekend. The campaign, titled “One Bold Choice Leads to Another,” kicks off with two 30-second spots airing on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” telecast, AdAge reports.
The commercial comes just days after King cancelled the rest of his tour after suffering a fall on-stage at a show at the House of Blues in Chicago on Friday, October 3.The 89-year-old has been forced to pull out of eight gigs, including one at his own BB King Blues Club in Times Square, New York. King does appear to be recovering successfully, according to his official releases.
“I’m back at home now listening to music,” king said in a statement yesterday. “watching movies and enjoying some down time. I think I’m busier at home now than on the road talking to friends calling to check up on me. I do appreciate everyone’s calls and concern. I want to tell you, I’m doing alright.”
The BB King spot is the first of six spots that will air over the campaign, which aims to challenge people to live inspired lives while taking them to places they’ve never been before. The commercial is called Guitar and shows a woman who goes to a storage auction and hits the jackpot.
