The Blues Blast Music Awards honor contemporary blues artists and their recordings. Artists with major labels and indie artists are eligible to be considered. All blues musicians including independent artists and labels can submit their music directly to our nominators for consideration resulting in a recognition series that includes a wide array of independent artists and labels.
The process results in two forms of recognition for the artists. First the nominators select their “best of” choices so ALL of the nominees are winners because they have in effect won “the critic’s award” by being nominated.
Then fans vote for their choices. The results are the largest awards series where blues fans vote for the best in contemporary blues music giving the artists with the most votes a “people’s choice” award!
Voting to determine the winners began July 1, 2017 and continues until August 15, 2017.
