Much of this album is inspired by early 70’s afro American blues, soul, R&B, funk, and the sounds of the black exploitation movies such as ‘Superfly’…
“You don’t see any black people playing country, and there’s been only one black rock and roll band in my lifetime, and that’s Living Color.”
“Not trying to get caught up in any particular kind of style, I was just trying to put some really good songs together.”
