Today, British Blues Award winner Dani Wilde releases a new single, “Sunshine,” explaining, “I’d been listening to a lot of Keb Mo and Eric Bibb when I wrote this one.”
A steady, feel-good groove, the track is acoustic gospel-infused rhythm and blues. Featuring the expressive harmonica playing of award-winning sibling Will Wilde, “Sunshine” is uplifting and makes you want to tap your foot and sing along.
“I wrote this one for my partner and my two babies,” says Wilde. Continuing, ”It’s about how they light up my world and how I never want for them to worry, because I’ll always be there for them.” The acoustic track also features a tasty electric guitar solo from Wilde, with an emotive lead vocal brimming with both integrity and range.
Wilde burst onto the International blues scene in 2007, opening for Jools Holland as a special guest of Christopher Holland’s band, at London’s Royal Albert Hall. That same year she signed to prestigious blues record label Ruf Records.
