VizzTone Label Group proudly presents its second album from Patti Parks. A soulfully uplifting singer, Patti is a multi-award-winning vocalist and Buffalo Music Hall of Fame inductee. Come Sing With Me was produced by soul-blues legend Johnny Rawls, who also teams with Patti on two duets: the aching ballad “I’m In Love With You Baby,” written by Rawls and Patti’s husband Guy Nirelli, as well as Johnny’s mid-tempo southern swing with a shag dance feel, “How Much Longer.”
Patti’s stunning, warm voice soars over tracks where blues, Memphis soul, gospel, and Carolina swag simmer together to deliver an explosive recording. The songs were carefully selected by Patti to create a combination of music with clever lyrics, memorable rhythms, and uplifting vocals. In addition to Rawls, the tracks feature several guest artists to enhance the set.
Renowned pianist Anthony Geraci gives an epic performance on “DJ’s Boogie,” which Ms. Parks performs as a show stopping feel-good dance tune. “Hamburger Man,” a slow-burning blues laced with light-hearted double entendre, features Richard Rosenblatt on harmonica. The title track carries its impactful message of love, life and spirit with the help of gospel recording artists, accompanying vocalist Kamira Lattimore and organist Aaron Blackmon.
Patti is also a dedicated working nurse, and has received national recognition for “Nurse’n Blues” — the unique therapeutic program she founded in 2015. As a performer and a nurse, Patti understands the healing power of the blues, and Come Sing With Me delivers the message with strength and style.
