Soul man Jeremie Albino has shared the video for “I Don’t Mind Waiting,” which was produced by Dan Auerbach and co-written with Pat McLaughlin (John Prine, Johnny Cash). The song features an enthralling ten-piece band led by The Dap-Kings’ Tommy Brenneck.
Jeremie’s debut album for Auerbach-run label Easy Eye Sound, titled Our Time In the Sun, will arrive November 1. It’s the culmination of Albino’s remarkable journey – from farming in remote rural Ontario, to busking on the streets of Toronto and now sharing stages around the world with artists like Orville Peck and Sierra Ferrell.
As for Auerbach, he produced this new collection after a chance encounter with Albino’s music online that left him mesmerized: “It was a dream. His voice was amazing. I instantly loved his style and charisma — I didn’t know it could just be so real.”
Drawing from a diverse range of styles, including Stax-era gospel-funk and the blues-rock of the ’60s, Albino weaves stories of love’s complexities, personal struggles, and the gritty reality of hard work. His lyrics, filled with clever turns of phrase and poignant reflections, capture the essence of life’s highs and lows.
