New Low” is a haunting, slow blues track that merges Ben Levin’s shimmering and ethereal piano work with the unmistakable West Side soul of Lil’ Ed’s Chicago blues guitar.

As the rhythm section—Aron Levin on guitar, Walter Cash Jr. on bass, and Cole Baker on drums—provides a steady foundation, the entire band gives Ed the space to shine on lead guitar and vocals, but it’s his connection to the lyrics that makes this track so special. In the studio, they captured the magic of a single take.

I am proud to release this single I recorded with Lil’ Ed in late 2023. I first saw Ed live as a young teen, and his show left a lasting impression on me. It is an honor to now work with Ed in the studio and on stage. I wrote this song during a difficult period in my life, and was dealing with the grief of a lost friend and family member.
