(JACKSON, MS) – The Jackson Rhythm and Blues Festival presented by xFinity and taking place in the “City with Soul”, Jackson, Mississippi is now two months away and excitement is building for the festival — especially after a major promotion at the Chicago Blues Festival. Thousands of festival-goers had the opportunity to get a small taste of what they can expect at the premier two-day festival on August 15th & 16th at the Mississippi Ag Museum.

The Jackson Rhythm and Blues Festival Idol Competition is under way and contestants are vying for the opportunity to perform at the festival and meet the 2004 American Idol Winner, FANTASiA! The festival will take place on the rustic grounds of the MS Ag Museum and will offer over 30 artists on 5 stages, including 3 indoor air-conditioned juke joints. The stellar line-up includes headliners: Ziggy Marley, FANTASiA and Bell Biv DeVoe.
