The first image of Don Cheadle as Miles Davis has been released on Entertainment Weekly.
Earlier in the year, it was announced that acclaimed actor Don Cheadle would be playing Miles Davis in an upcoming biopic, focusing on his emergence after “the silent years” of the Jazz trumpeter’s life — the six-year period where Davis withdrew almost entirely from the public eye and almost never played.

Cheadle, whose roles include House of Lies, Iron Man Two and Three, and Hotel Rwanda also will direct and produce Miles Ahead from a script he wrote with Steven Baigelman, who also wrote Get On Up, the James Brown biopoc due out later this year. With this movie, Cheadle is making his directorial debut with the crowdfunded movie.
Actor Don Cheadle’s obsession with Miles Davis began as a child with the jazz trumpeter’s album Porgy and Bess, a beloved staple of his family’s music collection.
Entertainment Weekly has released an interview with Cheadle on the movie and his background of Miles, along with the first photo.
