We’ve covered Gip’s Place, the legendary, long-standing Juke Joint that has seen hundreds of acts ranging from back porch musicians to internationally famous acts in the past. After a fire raged on the property of the famous cozy venue, rumors and questions have been swirling as to whether Gip’s Place burned to the ground, or if fire damage destroyed the venue. Luckily, the main venue and Gip’s adjourning house came out of the disaster unscathed.
A building on the premises was destroyed under fire, which started while Gip was inside. Fortunately, he made it out unharmed, but lost several irreplaceable guitars, including, apparently, one that was a gift from Chuck Berry.
