The Blues Foundation has scheduled a week of live music, workshops, films, exhibits and more for the 35th Annual International Blues Challenge.

Scheduled for release on January 11th, ‘The Imperial’ is the latest offering from country soul group, The Delines. But the album almost didn’t happen at all.

A trio based in both Seattle and London, Lonesome Shack plays a combination of hill country blues and urban folk.

One of the last and most accomplished practitioners of the golden 1950s era of Chicago blues, Williams was well-known for his instantly recognizable stinging guitar tone.

It’s blues rock, but then again not. It’s Southern rock, but then again more. It’s rock and roll, slathered in funky soul with a machine-gun guitar at its forefront. It’s Glenn Alexander and company at their very best.

The Stones first toured the US in 1964, playing 12 shows, in 8 cities over the course of 15 days. It was during a two day break in this tour that they met their idol Muddy Waters

“I wrote the lyrics for ‘Right About Now’ while I was living in Raleigh, NC and just getting out of a long relationship,” Rosenbloom shared with us.

“We were knee to knee underneath 1930’s RCA ribbon mics, with my 1934 National guitar. It was one of the most powerful musical experiences of my life”.- Rev Peyton

“I’ve hit a lot of their licks on my guitar over the years, especially Lightnin’ Hopkins,” White said. “But I sung it the way I felt. Just my voice, harmonica and an old guitar. I feel real good on it.”
