The Chicago Blues Festival is one of the last great free festivals dedicated to keeping the blues alive right at home. Thanks, Chicago!
This festival “has become the premier fundraising event for the area with all of the proceeds going to local charities, food bank, orphanages, and provides eye exams and glasses for the children.”
The evening was a great success, raising $10,000, which included a guitar signed by Bobby Rush, and the winner’s photo with him.
This is now a “must go next year and bring my friends with me” event.
This year’s headliners included John Mayall, Charlie Musselwhite, and slide masters Roy Rogers and Sonny Landreth together.
