Sanders played with the heaviest of hitters during his time in Chicago. Besides Howlin’ Wolf, he also accompanied artists that included Jimmy Reed, Hound Dog Taylor, Albert King, Magic Sam, Little Junior Parker, BB King, and Bobby “Blue” Bland, to name just a few.
What do you get when Queens of the Stone Age invite Bobby Rush onstage? A good time of course!

Over in the Delta tent, Bobby Rush, the sassiest and downright sexiest 85 year old on the scene, was thrusting his way through a dynamite set.
“Who knows what’s good. It’s like I’m from Louisiana man. People can tell you how good they cook down there all they want but you ain’t gonna know until you taste it.”
“It’s a great thing to still be around and enjoy life, and talk about it in the morning. That’s all that matters to me.”
This year’s symposium is being co-hosted by the B.B. King Museum and the B.B. King Recording Studio. The theme for this year’s events is “Chitlin’ Circuit.”
“We have to make the area and our culture, and our history relevant to young people. It has to tie into current day amenities in some form or fashion.”
“Everyone has a particular first-hand life experience but this particular segregated, sharecropping, slavery-type experience ends at that generation.”
