Bridging the Blues, a multi-week celebration of the musical heritage of Memphis and the Delta regions of Mississippi and Arkansas, marks its fifth anniversary with dozens of activities in late September and early October.

“Going out, living, and writing about what you know, that’s where songs come from.”

Super Chikan and Bobby Rush ended the day with an intimate duo show and storytelling session, but not before stopping by Po Monkey’s! Also a Blues Trail Marker unveiled and the International Blues Symposium!

Monday and Tuesday were the International Conference on the Blues at Delta State University! Awesome classes, informative speeches, and star blues jams!

As a wind blew in off of the Mississippi River, the Mighty Mississippi kicked off the big three-state Bridging the Blues affair with deep blues and everything delta residents and fans of the music and area love! Tomorrow is even more!
