Blue & Lonesome Duo is made up of singer/harmonica player Ronnie Owens, of Li’l Ronnie & the Grand Dukes, and singer/guitarist Gordon Harrower, he too of the Grand Dukes, but also of Rattlesnake Shake.
Any fan of real deal, no b.s., nitty gritty blues, is going to be a fan of ‘Mark Wenner’s Blues Warriors.’ If you don’t already have a copy in your collection, get two. Just like in the old days, you might just wear the first one out.
Ricci’s playing lifts us up, makes us move, slams us against the wall and says, “What’s up?,” but most importantly, it makes us feel.
“I heard rock and roll music for the first time when I was 10, and right away, it just changed everything. I heard blues for the first time when I was 12. I got the ‘Paul Butterfield Blues Band’ album, and it changed everything.”
The album is a non-profit project with the artists performing on the album having donated their time, and all proceeds from sales of the album going to the Blues Foundation and HART Fund.
