Emmylou has excelled as both a songwriter and an interpreter of songs. She has sold more than 15 million records, won 14 Grammy Awards, three CMA Awards, and four Americana Awards. She is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, as well as the Academy of American Arts and Science. 

Today, Griffith’s longtime friend Emmylou Harris premieres a lighthearted version of “Love Wore a Halo (Back Before the War).”

An 18th-century mountain ballad, “Wayfaring Stranger,” came to Cole via Emmylou Harris, whose own version of the song appeared on 1980’s ‘Roses in the Snow,’ and was “a profound influence” on Cole.
