Saturday, October 26th will still bring the blues to the gulf side of Florida! In the span of less than a day, The Sarasota Blues Festival was cancelled, essentially dead, then reincarnated as the Florida Blue Blues and Music Festival.

The Sarasota Blues Fest has been bringing the blues to Florida’s gulf coast for over twenty years, but this year, the event and it’s manatee mascot are “taking the year off”

We recently sat down with Selwyn Birchwood, an up-and-coming young Blues guitarist who’s been making real waves in the blues lately.

In a small community, how do you raise money for charity and have a good time doing it?
