A wealth of wonderful events will happen throughout the week surrounding the main attractions: the Blues Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and the Blues Music Awards.

Our editor forgot to renew our memberships with the Blues Foundation. Publicly admitting it is his karmic retribution for such an unspeakable act, and will hopefully be a learning opportunity.

The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have insisted on covering the full expense of pioneering bluesman Hubert Sumlin’s burial.

We’ve just received word that blues Hall of Famer Hubert Sumlin, like so many of his peers, died without the financial wherewithal to take care of his own funeral and burial expenses.

Not only is Mill Block Blues generating thousands of dollars for the Handy Artist Relief Trust to help blues musicians in need, it is an excellent album with an all-star Texas cast. Fun to listen to and expertly made, it’s got the magic!
