It is encouraging to see such an abundance of new blood carrying the blues forward from a region steeped in America’s music, and it’s history.
The swampy, soulful, rollicking lineup for the third annual Bogalusa Blues and Heritage Festival has been announced!
Including Dr John and Johnny Sansone, the festival’s lineup stays true to the swampy blues that came from the area.
This album is set to late ’40s – early ’50s style (sometimes referred to as “post war”) blues. The sound quality and production are good, and the level of musicianship is high.
Performers at the May 26th festival may not be the sole survivors of the area’s musical history. But they’re close.
