The Chicago Blues All-Stars are “Red, Hot & Blue.” Released on the Azure Music label, Red, Hot & Blue is noteworthy on many levels. These musicians are all top-shelf Chicago players who have backed and played with music royalty including Chuck Berry, John Lee Hooker, Albert King, gary Moore, Otis Rush, and Muddy Waters.
This Time Another Year is a Brandon Santini showcase, simmering in places, and smoking in others. The album is mixed very well, and lets the music speak in a spirited voice.

TSOJB’s last outing, Good Thang, was a great mix of blues tinged, soul and funk influenced joy. A Sunshine State of Mind, on Yellow Dog Records, is TSOJB’s 5th release. This album is a huge leap forward; it is more focused, concise, and much, much tighter!

Over the course of nineteen years, The Tampa Bay Blues Festival has become one of the premier blues festivals in the nation. People travel from all corners of the globe to attend, and with good reason.
Quick Fix is a strong outing, especially as a debut album. This album features funky blues, Memphis style soul blues (with a pulse!), swing blues, piano boogie, and superior ensemble style playing. Production values are very good, and the sound quality is good as well. A strong album overall, there are several standout cuts here.
If you get the chance, definitely try to catch up with Selwyn this year! “When you come to a show, you see four dudes, or however many people on stage, doing what they love doing. We do everything we can just to play the best music we can (and) try to give the people what they want.”
This is very much an album of atmosphere and mood. It is textured, but also ballsy in a quiet, understated way. Sublime. The players sound great, and Scaggs is smoother than ever.
Attending any outdoor music event in Florida is an experience to be remembered. The Sunshine Blues Festival was no exception.
