As a musical genre, it arguably dates back almost a century. But who really invented the music known as rock and roll? Here are the contenders.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2018 includes Bon Jovi, The Cars, Dire Straits, The Moody Blues, Nina Simone and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
The fans have made their feelings known and they want to see classic rock artists admitted to the Rock Hall.
First time nominees include Eurythmics, Judas Priest, Radiohead, Rage Against The Machine, Kate Bush, Dire Straits, Nina Simone, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and the Moody Blues.
“I made records for people who would buy them. No color, no ethnic, no political — I don’t want that, never did.”
The inductees for the class of 2017 are Joan Baez, Electric Light Orchestra, Journey, Pearl Jam, Tupac Shakur and Yes.
His early performances are the stuff of myth and legend, and just dropping a needle on one of his exceptional albums will ignite the passions gathered in any given space.
