One of the oldest blues festivals around, The King Biscuit Blues Festival consistently presents a stellar roster of performers. This phenomenal festival’s mission is to focus attention on the heritage and history of the Delta blues… and to inspire!

If you get the chance, definitely try to catch up with Selwyn this year! “When you come to a show, you see four dudes, or however many people on stage, doing what they love doing. We do everything we can just to play the best music we can (and) try to give the people what they want.”

The competition for the 29th annual International Blues Challenge was fierce, but the winners emerged from the Orpheum Theater with incredible accolades and valuable prizes. Find all of the winners here.

We recently sat down with Selwyn Birchwood, an up-and-coming young Blues guitarist who’s been making real waves in the blues lately.

The finals have been announced and the gears are in motion for the blowout competition to determine the winners at the Orpheum Theatre. The band finals begin at 2:00pm, Solo/duo finals will begin at 7:30 pm.
