“That whole tour was kinda triumphant for me. Just to be back, after what I went through.”
As we all know, Walter Trout is back with a vengeance. He is playing with passion and ferocity, performing like he has a new lease on life, because in fact, he does.
Folks out there who have not seen Trout live, and witnessed the juggernaut he has become, are truly missing out!
He says of his live performances, “I get into the energy and the moment and the excitement of it all,” he says. “I think I’m a very different guitarist live…”
The best part of being there was watching the joy on Trout’s face as he tore it up with complete devotion and abandon. Anyone who witnessed this performance will never forget it.
“If people are expecting a laid-back show, that’s not what they’ll get. This is potent stuff…”
Every year since 1995, The Tampa Bay Blues Festival has presented the best blues artists in the world playing to enthusiastic crowds in beautiful Vinoy Park, right on the waterfront.
“I feel that I’m reborn as a songwriter, a singer, a guitarist and a human being. I have a new chance at being the best musician and the best man that I can be. And I’m incredibly happy and grateful.”
I had to relearn how to talk, I couldn’t speak; I didn’t recognize my kids. I had to relearn how to walk again. Basically, I was gone.
Walter Trout, who plays on “Can’t Take It No More,” is yet another member of this blues fraternity who, despite battling health issues, was anxious to contribute to the project.
